BC Books Online e-books

We have just added 650 e-books in the BC Books Online collection to the library catalogue. These are electronic books by BC publishers, with BC content, made available to us under a special grant (which will hopefully be renewed in future years). You can view them at any campus workstation.

Sample search:

1. Go to library catalogue – http://lib.cnc.bc.ca

2. Enter search words:

e.g. “Canadian electronic library” will bring up all books

e.g. “A Thousand Blunders” will bring up a specific book about the Grand Trunk Pacific Railway in Prince George

3. Get results – for “A Thousand Blunders” you’ll notice we have both the print book (in STACKS) and the electronic book (EB - ONLINE).

4. Click on View to see the full record for the electronic book.

5. Click on the “Electronic access” address at the top of the record, to view the full text of the book, divided into contents and pages. Printing limits are set by each publisher. If you would like to print a page or a limited range (e.g. under 20 pages) you can do that by going to the top left pull-down menu: Info Tools – Print.
